Re: Spring Term – Lay Training Courses

The following courses are being offered across the Huddersfield Episcopal Area from January to April 2019:

Discipleship to Discovery Course – Dewsbury Minster, runs over four Weds evenings starting 9th January 7.30-9.00pm. An opportunity to reflect on your gifts and what you do best in the body of Christ.

Pastoral Conversations – 2hr introduction to Pastoral Care at Dewsbury Minster (1.30pm-3.30pm Tues 15th Jan), and repeated at St Jude’s, Savile Park (10.00-12.00, Sat 2nd March)

Disability Rep Training – Christ Church, Moldgreen, Saturday 26th Jan, 10.00-14.00. Find out about the role of the disability rep and the support and information available. Bring a packed lunch.

Leading a Nurture Group St James’ Meltham Mills, Saturday 2nd Feb, 10.00-16.00. Training on what makes a good leader, what helps us grow, practicalities and group dynamics. Bring a packed Lunch.

Christian Meditation Course – St Paul’s Armitage Bridge, runs over six Monday evenings in Lent, starting 4th March. (cost £20).

PCC Secretary Training – St Martin’s Brighouse, Monday 11th March (19.30-21.30). A look at the formal tasks and responsibilities of the PCC secretary.

Lay Eucharistic Ministry Training – St Thomas’s, Greetland, Saturday 23rd March (10.00-12.00). For those with permission to assist with serving bread and wine. To include a focus on home communions.

Bereavement Support Training – St Paul’s, Shepley, runs over four Tuesday evenings, starting 26th Feb (no meeting on 12th March). For those involved in caring for the bereaved.
