Baptisms, Weddings and Funerals
|COVID-19 Pandemic March 2020|
It is with deep regret that St Matthew's Church, along with all other Anglican and Methodist churches in the U.K., has had to temporarily close its doors during the current Coronavirus Covid-19 outbreak.
The following guidance is taken from a letter dated 24 March 2020 from the Archbishops of Canterbury and York:
'Emergency baptisms can take place in hospital or at home, though subject to strict hygienic precautions and physical distancing as far a possible.
There can be no weddings in church buildings until further notice.
Funerals can only happen at the crematorium or at the graveside. Only immediate family members can attend (if the crematorium allows) - that is, spouse or partner, parents and children, keeping their distance in the prescribed way.'
We will always be delighted to welcome you to St Matthew's, Rastrick.
If you need to arrange a funeral during the Coronavirus Outbreak then please contact the Churchwarden above. Information about the Interment of Ashes in the churchyard is located on the Churchyard page
